The Godless, Baby-Killing Sodomite
It’s a cold morning in Baltimore, Maryland as Al Snyder and his family bury the body of their 20-year-old son who was killed in Iraq. Reverend Fred Phelps and his followers of the Westboro Baptist Church attend the funeral as well, holding colorful signs that read in big, bold letters, “THANK GOD FOR DEAD SOLDIERS.”
“YOUR SONS ARE IN HELL.”
“GOD KILLED YOUR SONS.”
“FAGS DOOM NATIONS.”
Reverend Fred Phelps boasts that he and his followers have picketed at over 100 military funerals. He uses a book written by men thousands of years ago to tell people that the nation is doomed. He screams to the grieving family members of dead soldiers, celebrities, and politicians that their loved ones are burning in hell solely because they didn’t hate homosexuals.

He is an extremist in every sense of the word and doesn’t fully represent the conservative movement in America. But the fact remains that this sort of ignorant, hate-mongering conservatism exists in the highest echelons of government. Americans are consistently denied marriages and jobs based on their sexual orientations, they are paid at lower rates because of their gender, and they are sent to war as politicians assure them that it’s “a task that is from God.” We’re in a world where left is right and feeling rules over logic.
I say, no more. I say, if they want to play dirty, let’s play dirty.
I am the godless, baby-killing sodomite. I know that if an omnipresent, all-knowing creator exists, He created us all equally. He made us just as He did the animals, the plants, and the single-celled organisms too minuscule to be noticed. I know that old, white men who don’t trust science are killing the planet for their own personal gain. I know what happens to countries that preach fear and hate, dividing its citizens between the patriots and “the other.” And I dare you to tell me that I’m wrong, that right is right.
So…those people are total twits. Jesus preached tolerance and forgiveness…turn the other cheek no stone casting etc. I try to be logical in all thing related to politics (how am I doing?) but I do lean right. . . hmmm more libertarian lately but right nonetheless. Always ticks me off when idiots like this get the headlines and make the rest of us look bad.
America is founded on the ideals of personal freedom…we are not a theocracy, this is not the Middle Ages..and I’ll let you finish my rant for me
These people make me sick to my stomach. I do no care what you believe is right, but no one can justly argue that it is ever right to picket a funeral of anyone let alone with such hate. They claim these soldiers will burn in hell, but I have to believe the God I know will hold them at the pearly gates in question of this behavior while letting those whose funerals they protest in with open and loving arms.
I am amazed this is still allowed to go on. I have heard of bikers who go and stand in front of these bigots with flags and do what they can to block them from view, protecting the mourning family as much as they can.

@Kelly - You know I agree that they are wrong and that they suck for doing it but I still think they have the right to do it…but I have the right to make fun of them and think they are an idio.

Right on, Bird. I’ll defend Phelps’ right to be a douchebag to the end. Us godless, baby-killing sodomites have a real sweet spot for the First Amendment.

I’m personally a hippy Canadian, so I’m with you all the way Mr. GBKS.
Something of interest in regards to Fred Phelps is the fact that he beat his wife & kids while raising them & basically only turned outwardly to attacking the world (specifically homosexuals) when his kids grew up & refused to allow the beatings to go on. Of the 13 kids he had, only 4 escaped. And his “congregation” basically consists of his family & a few men that chose to marry into his family.
It seems far more likely to me that Fred Phelps will do the baby eating that his family accuses the rest of us of.
Oh, also, Fred forced his whole family to get law degrees so they can sue people erroneously & try to force out of court settlements from innocent people. He actually HOPES that people attack him at protests, just so he can sue them. As far as I can find out, lawsuits are their family’s only source of income.

To be clear, those loons pervert a book in order to justify their own hatred. It has been done throughout the centuries.
The adults should be shot on site -or at least imprisoned and their children taken away.
